1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various types of music determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own music is superior and has the right to rule others.
2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination. AKA conservatory (joking!)
3. syndrome developed when pop music engages more people than your music and is more commercially viable
We don’t have anything to say in particular, but just wanted to give a quick hello to all of you and let you know we’re around! Just posted pictures from our latest event, VISIONS here, with photos by Frank Wang. While we are too lazy to leave our air-conditioned workspace, we are not too lazy to plan our next season, which has quite a few spiffy things baking in the oven (more like burning nicely crisping in this weather). Also, our very own Sugar Vendil has just won a guest curator spot in the concert series of a very cool contemporary music festival in New York…we’ll dish the details soon! In the meantime, try making some homemade micheladas while you listen to some good music. And since you’re most likely in front of a computer, why not check out our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter. There you’ll receive our updates, along with the occasional cocktail/music/fashion suggestion!
